New year new start

Happy 2013!  So far I have to say my year is off to a good start.  My main goal for 2013 is to take better care of myself, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  I’ve spent so much of my time caring for others and being their support system that I feel like 2012 I forgot that I need to put my needs first sometimes.  Part of this is not feeling guilty about the money spent on the occasional manicure.  It also means making the choices that will make be feel better long term.  I’m off to a successful start and hope to keep it going.  It’s not a resolution, but a goal of changing the way I think and react. 

With that in mind – how to do break bad habits?  I read somewhere that it takes 2 weeks to build a new habit, but what about the ones we know we’d be better without?  My habit that I’d like to change is actually a person.  I am not sure the way I react to them is good for me, but I’m also not sure if I’m letting my past color my present.  What do you do when you’re stuck and don’t know which turn to take?
